Decisions

Everyday we make decisions
For the good and for the bad
Don't follow the sentiments
Better try reason instead

Life is quite inviting
Especially when you are young
Freedom is tempting
Discovery is in commend

No idea of the future
Still so far away
But before you have noticed
Your hair has turned grey

Be aware of the things you do
You cannot reverse the hands of time
Live, absorb and value
Then there will be no need to whine

Een Absoluut Genoegen

Ter wereld komen rijp van geest
Doordrenkt van schranderheid
Gedreven door een innerlijke groei
De trivialiteit voorbij

Respect voor menig diversiteit
Religie, ras en stand
Openheid en begrip in
Een maatschappij zonder rand

Bewustzijn en integriteit
De kwestbaren beschermd
Betrokkenheid voor iedereen
Synergie versterkt

Ontdaan van onvolkomenheid
Maakt het zijn tot een waar feest
Een absoluut genoegen
Voor de volgroeide geest

De Schelp

Een schelpje uit het Caraibisch Gebied
Spoelde aan op een Curacao's strand
Na een poos werd het gevonden
En meegebracht naar Nederland

Eens was het een weekdier diep in de zee
Na een tijdje reste alleen nog de schaal
Weldra in gebruik als huisvesting
Voor een kreeftje of een garnaal

Op een dag tilden de golven het omhoog
Zo vanuit het water op het witte zand
Daar lag het helemaal waterloos
Wachtend tot er iemand kwam

Een schelpje afkomstig van ver hier vandaan
Speciaal gezocht en gevonden voor mij
Mooi belijnd en fraai van vorm
Zoals een schone schelp behoort te zijn

Faith

A promissing sounding word 
Somtimes hard to comprehend 
In times of despair 
It may become a friend

Keep a clear vision 
At the highs and the lows 
Keep the mind lucid
For there is always hope

Trust, hope and faith 
Will never let you down 
Better the highway than the byway 
Search for the silverlining cloud

Beat the problems 
Don't be afraid
Be a true believer 
Never ever lose the faith

Resilience

I love the word resilience
Sounds like the nine lives' cat
The landings are so brilliant
It cannot be all that bad

But life is not always simple
It is often a bumpy ride
So you have to be resilient
In order to survive

Dont let anger get to you
Nor bitterness or ill-will
With the effect of a poison
It will eventuallly kill

Try to be constructive
As difficult as it may be
It will benefit you more
Than submerging in grief

Idle Words

Sometimes we say things
We do not even mean
The proverbial slip of the tongue
Right there on the scene

It will float into the universe
Without a proper sense
Just a bunch of idle words
But the impact could be immense

It is always caused by emotions
For we cannot keep it moderate
The words just come out wrong
Like a razor-sharp blade

So next time there are words
You unintentionally have to say
Remember they will forever
Hover in eternal space

Droef Van Geest

Er zijn bepaalde periodes
Daar worstelt men zich doorheen
Het evenwicht is weg
Ze zijn dan droef van geest

Het overkomt hen zomaar
Gewoon out of the blue
Het gemoed blijft ontroostbaar
Ze zitten absoluut in de knoei

Ze gaan vaak in therapie
Om er mee om te gaan
Zodat het hen minder beperkt
In het dagelijks bestaan

Het droefgeestig gevoel

Is zeker niet constant
Begrip en stabiliteit

Zorgen voor een betere balans
