Het Lichaam En De Geest

Zeg deed jij het licht uit
Zei de geest tegen het lichaam
Ik heb zoveel te doen
En ben nog lang niet klaar

Dat kun je nu wel stellen
Zei het lichaam tegen de geest
Als je er nu niet mee ophoud
Ben ik er binnenkort wel geweest

Ja, ja zei de geest tegen het lichaam
Kan dit eigenlijk helemaal niet aan
Vind dit zo vreselijk moeilijk
Ben gewend mijn eigen weg te gaan

Het lichaam: weet, dat je met kanker
Pas moet maken op de plaats
Want als je niet wilt luisteren
Komt er überhaupt geen straks meer aan

The Heritage

Big houses and large gardens

Our existence was good

Life was very pleasant

But the disturbance was rude

When independence came

To Holland we had to move

A country quite ignorant

So we were not at all amused

We arrived at Rotterdam on 31 of May

Today fifty three years ago

It was a cold and foggy day

As the Sibajak moored at Dutch shore

They waited for us at the quai

Dad's parents and Oom Cher

To give us a hearty hail

A comforting moment to share

It took us some time to adapt

The heritage is treasured

An annual visit to the Pasar Malam

It is still a great pleasure

Transition Point

I am looking in the mirror
And what do I see
A troubled person
It doesn’t look like me

I’ve grown so much older
But inside I am just the same
Like the one without worries
At another time and place

But those are rare moments
I am guided by the light
I think about the good things
That all will turn out fine

I know, it isn’t always easy
But I’ll try to be strong
For I am almost there
To reach transition point

A Summer's Day

I am looking out of the window
The sun is shining bright
Everybody is outdoors
They might go for a ride

Perhaps heading to the seaside
Watching the ships sailing by
Enjoying a cup of vanilla ice
While seagulls wait nearby

Or maybe into the woods
Enjoying all the green
Making a long walk
With healthy air to breathe

At the end of this summer's day
They all want to rush home
But it will take a while
For traffic jams cause for delay

Ancient Histories

You cannot base a character
On stories people tell
But on some occasions
It is not told well

So find out for yourself
Remember the good times in the past
Make the right decision
Otherwise the blast will forever last

Let bygones be bygones
Let ancient histories go
It is time to move forward
It´s never too late to say hello

Het VerMogen

Zit het in je bovenkamer goed
Dan is mijn motto is zonneklaar
Zoals in het centrum van de NS
Wanneer het daar stagneert
Is de samenhang in een tel weg

Het cognitieve verdwijnt
Het geheugen vervaagt
De coordinatie raak je kwijt
De ontredderling is groot
Een stadium van infantiliteit

Het uiterlijk is er nog wel
De eigen identiteit is weg
Geen kans tot communucatie
De functies vallen uit
De situatie is in en in triest

Zorg goed voor het vermogen

Verwaarloos het nou niet
Benut het, zolang je kunt
Zoniet begint een periode
Welke niemand wordt gegund

Missing The Link

If worries start consuming you
Stay on the bright sight of life
Never lose courage

Yet the tide is much too high

I know life can be ruthless
Full of sadness and despair
Don’t let gloominess get to you
For the psyche needs to be alert

I believe in mind over matter
The mind is a powerful thing
The abilities are numerous

But we are still missing the link

Though this is wishful thinking
Keep mentally strong

Do not lose sanity

Then nothing can go wrong
